How You Can Help Make A Difference Today!

The National Youth Empowerment Program has developed a strategic donor support initiative to attract repeat sponsorship of the NYEP vision. These prospective donors identify with the humanitarian based community focus of NYEP’s mission where “at-risk students receive guidance, support, and nurturing from positive community based professional role models (athletes, educators, community members, corporate personnel and government officials).”

Educating Children About Their Higher Self

The National Youth Empowerment Program is grounded in Humanistic Theory, the most notable of which is the work of Abraham Harold Maslow. In his 1954 Theory of Motivation, Maslow suggests that the needs of humans are hierarchical in nature, and that a person’s lower-order needs must first be satisfied before his or her high-order needs can be addressed; thus, when a lower-order need is satisfied it ceases to be a motivator, allowing the individual’s higher-order needs to then be addressed.
